Summer Wedding Season Countdown: Last-Minute Planning Tips

Let’s face it, summer wedding season comes around fast. Whether you’re weeks away from the big day or just starting to look at venues, there’s still plenty of time to make it special. At Cave Castle, we’ve helped couples plan everything from whirlwind weddings to long-planned affairs. So if you’re short on time (or just want a head start for next year), these tips are for you.

1. Start with the Big Decisions

The quickest way to cut through the noise? Focus on what actually matters. Your venue. Your guest list. The kind of ceremony you want. And don’t forget your photographer.

If you’ve got those locked in, everything else falls into place. And if you’re still hunting for the perfect spot, Cave Castle has some last-minute summer availability, plus a team who can help bring everything together fast. No waiting around. Just dates, decisions, and doing.

2. Choose a Venue That Does It All

The trick to saving time (and probably a bit of money)? Go for a venue that can handle everything under one roof. Ceremony, reception, catering, bar, overnight rooms…all sorted.

That’s where we come in. At Cave Castle, our all-inclusive wedding packages take the stress out of planning, covering every part of your day in one place. We’ve got multiple licensed ceremony spaces, stunning grounds for photos, on-site catering teams, guest bedrooms, and even a spa to unwind in before or after the big day. It’s your full wedding weekend, sorted.

We’ve helped plan weddings in just six weeks, it’s possible and it’s beautiful.

3. Don’t Be Afraid to Go Digital

Shared planning documents, online RSVPs, wedding websites… they’re absolute lifesavers. Keeping everything in one place means fewer phone calls, fewer spreadsheets, and way less stress.

If you’re just getting started, we recommend checking out Hitched.co.uk. You can make a free account and start building your guest list and seating plan in minutes. It’s easy to use and helps you visualise everything early on.

And if you need help setting up a simple plan, our wedding coordinator is happy to suggest tools, help you stay organised, or even share a few templates we’ve seen work well.

4. Delegate Where You Can

You do not need to do it all yourself. Seriously.

Pick a few trusted friends or family members, assign out the smaller jobs (like sorting playlists or chasing RSVPs), and focus on the parts that matter most to you.

And if you’re booking with Cave Castle, you’re already getting a helping hand. You’ll work directly with our dedicated wedding coordinator, who’ll guide you from first enquiry to final toast, helping with timings, suppliers, table layouts, and anything else you need along the way.

5. Remember to Enjoy It

Even if you’re short on time, it’s still your day. Make space for the fun bits, the outfit try-ons, the food tastings, the playlist arguments. This part only happens once.

And we’re big believers in that. Whether you’re visiting for a menu tasting at The Windsor Restaurant or picking photo spots in the grounds, we’ll make sure there’s room for moments that feel like you.

Need Help Getting Started?

Whether you’ve got two weeks or twelve months, we’re happy to help. Our team of experienced wedding coordinators are on hand to talk dates, ideas, or just where to begin. Reach out, take a tour, or check our availability, and let’s make your day unforgettable.
